The favorite: George Jenkins. The key for them to win could be the depth in the lineup.
Team to watch: Wiregrass Ranch. Last year’s champions still could have a deep group back.

What they are saying: “Every week I want to see Freedom, I want to see Flaggler, South Dade, and Sunlake. I want to see those teams so we'll find out where we are in very quick. I think as far as our outlook for the team, we have got to get a state placer. I think that's our major goal. We got better numbers. We got new girls starting every single day. Fortunately, we're getting some good athletes in which helps out a lot. But, I think that for us, we've got to win the district and I think put a girl on the podium. I think that's our big moves.”
On the team makeup: “We have really tough young women and, our schedule is loaded and win or lose we will not backdown. We have built a culture of true family between both the boys and the girls programs and we won’t let each other fail.”
Fun fact: After reaching the blood round last season, Gibson placed eighth in the 400 meter hurdles on the track.
Outlook: The Eagles looked poised to make school history with a first district title.
