What they are saying: “I think we got a mix of some kids that have been in the program for a long time, where maybe they took some growing pains last year and hopefully that experience is going to help them this year. We also have a good group of young kids coming in and they're going to get a lot of experience in the lineup really fast. That's exciting just to put those two core groups and then to see what we can come up with.”
On Blake Elder: “He's put a tremendous amount of work in. Now we're here going into his senior year and just really trying to keep him healthy and just on point. If he can do those two things, stay focused in what he's trying to accomplish, he’ll be right there in the mix for a state title. We just have to keep making some adjustments and keep working. If you go back and look at Blake's pictures when he was a freshman and now, it's two different people, and that's just a credit to the work that he's put in. I can always just say, look at what he's done, and he's been a great leader. He's got better every year with that so he's definitely going to be our leader this year and hopefully get some more kids on board.”
On freshman Lopez and Drake: “Those two that stick out the biggest just because they've been in our club for a long time and, I've been excited to get them up here. They're both freshman and they both have had success at the youth levels and the national levels and we are excited to get them into the lineup and see what they can do.”
Outlook: Jensen Beach will reload this year with some talented newcomers and look to its veterans to improve on last year’s performances. This team will be formidable again and expect it to be exponentially better at the end of the season.

Notable losses (Graduation/Transfer): Amari Walker, Jr., 17-16, RQ, D4 (Transfer to Dwyer)
Notable returning wrestlers: Julian Brady, Sr., 50-18, SQ, RC, D2; Bruno Reyes, Jr., 28-14, RQ-BR, D4; Aiden Escobar, Jr., 29-19, RQ, D3; Dario Bustos, Jr., 24-19, RQ, D4; Miguel Bonet, Sr., 12-11, D6.
What they are saying: “It's an interesting mix. We have obviously Brady, our state qualifier returns and Reyes, he lost in the blood round last year and returns. We have a couple other interesting guys. I'd say probably the close one on the cusp to getting where Julian and Bruno would be Bustos. He had finally had a full season for us last year and he's very tough regional qualifier last year. So we're looking for a little bit more from him.”
On Julian Brady: “Julian had the tournament of his life in the regional tournament. He knocked off a really solid wrestler from Miramar, pinned him and in the finals, and he beat the wrestler from Jensen Beach who ended up placing at the state tournament. Julian lost to him the week before and so Julian had a clearly defined idea of what he was going to do in the regional tournament and I think in the state tournament this is something he kind of admitted it was like he got there and it wasn't as clearly defined of an objective as the regional tournament was. So this year he knows how good he is. He knows his ability and one thing I definitely have to add about Julian is he’s an exceptional leader on the team. He's been in our leadership group since his sophomore year. He displayed leadership and potential from the very beginning and one thing that's especially critical about that is, he brings people with him.”
On Bruno Reyes: There are things Bruno does that I didn't teach him to do that. He just has exceptional body sense. He knows where his body is supposed to be. Bruno will watch something and you'll see him do it. He'll play around with it a little bit of practice and then he whips it out in a match. I haven't coached very many Bruno who just have this sense about where they're supposed to be. You can put him in a situation, blindfold him, and he's going to know where he should go.”
Outlook: Suncoast will be powered by Brady and Reyes and if they can bring some of the other Charger wrestlers long, this could be a good year for Suncoast.
