3A-4 Preview: Ocoee looking to not just threepeat, but challenge in Metro
Kabra Wrestling Rankings are updated every week all season long for Kabra+ members.
Last season: Ocoee topped a congested race for the district title. The top five spots were separated by just 38.5 points.
How did Kabra do?: In a pick ‘em prediction for this district, we were able to correctly guess the champ, but the rest of our predictions were left scrambled.

Wrestlers to watch: Silas Metayer (Ocoee), Tyler Duvermont (Ocoee), Fuad Maali (Olympia), Marcus Young (Apopka), Bryce Jackson (Horizon).
The favorite: Ocoee. The district has been close the past few years, but the Knights might be pulling away this season.
Team to watch: South Lake. 12 of 12 postseason wrestlers are back and that experience should play well in this tight district.
District duals: Wednesday, January 7 at Ocoee, 4 p.m.
District IBT: Wednesday, February 18 at Windermere, 11 a.m.

What they are saying: “The off-season buy in was incredible all the way from returning district champs to incoming freshman. The motto this year is controlled aggression, we have a ton of passion and love for the sport and we are going to take that aggression and harness is into dominating our opponent with technique and our mentality.”
On what this team can do: “We're looking to compete not just in the west Metros, but the whole Metro Conference. When we look at our lineup, we feel like we could do it. From what I see, Freedom is going to be a pretty tough matchup and you can never count out Timber Creek. This might be one strongest lineups in Ocoee history.”
On how the program was built: “We keep a lot of our former wrestlers involved with the program. The practices are open to them. We let them come by. They're family. We try to keep them involved as much as possible and then they have others coming in. They promote the sport. They become big promoters of the sport.”
Outlook: Ocoee has established itself as the class of the district and now is setting its sights on performing big at the next levels.
