1A-13 Preview: Wide-open race features no favorite heading into season
Kabra Wrestling Rankings are updated every week all season long for Kabra+ members.
Last season: King’s Academy put eight wrestlers in the finals and won the school’s first district title.
How did Kabra do?: We were a bit off on our picks. Let’s just leave it at that. Our champ finished down the line and the actual champ was picked third by Kabra.

What they are saying: “We're on the rise. I'm not saying we going to be the top dogs this year, but I got little goals. I want to repeat as district dual champs. We lost district IBT because one of my seniors got pulled by his parents the day before the tournament and he most likely would have won and we would have been district champs. I'm just so happy with these kids I have now. We're going to be young and I hope they stay young and they stay hungry.”
On coaching a young team: “We’ve got to get back to the basics. Make sure they are honest with themselves and honest with me. Also being very stern, but not too stern. Let them know they need to listen but also I like to have fun. Let them know wrestling is not all about beating on people every day. You can also have fun with it.”
On growing pains this season: “I think it's going to be a tough season to be honest because we're very young at the small weights. We don't get any experience till I think probably 150 then up to Galven. He's the leader. But it's going to be tough because a lot of my young kids are middle schoolers and I've been heavy recruiting in middle school hoping they stay through high school for they can be better and be great for the team. But for boys is definitely going to be tough.”
Outlook: The Greyhounds will be young this season but there are a couple leaders in the group and while there may be some starts and stops in success, the top wrestlers should be competing into March.
Coral Springs Charter Panthers

24-25 dual record: 9-17
Recent district results: 2025:8; 2024:2-1A14; 2023:2-1A14; 2022:4-1A14; 2021:3-1A14; 2020:3-1A14; 2019:2-1A14; 2018:2-1A14; 2017:2-1A14; 2016:4-1A14; 2015:3-1A14; 2014:3-1A14; 2013:4-1A14; 2012:5-1A14
Notable losses (Graduation/Transfer): Preston Lindsay, 38-6, 5th, R3, D2.
Notable returning wrestlers: Elijah Perez, Sr., 34-16, RQ, D2; Michael Streder, Sr., 15-15, RQ, D3; Nathan Carlisle, So., 7-16, RQ, D4; Andrew Ridge, Fr., 22-20; Logan Bosworth, Sr., 6-26; Brandon Hankerson.
What they are saying: "The program is definitely growing. We got a lot of parents buying into everything that I'm trying to, show them and teach them. So it's been really great. And now those sixth graders that have been with me getting their butts kicked because they're wrestling high schoolers are older and ready. They didn't have any experience before this. They were just kids from the hallway that we grabbed."
On Elijah: "It's one of the years that I think it's going to be the most special for me because my oldest son graduated three years ago, and now my youngest son is a senior Elijah. Knowing that it's the final year that he's going to be wrestling with me, it's tough. He's been training like a maniac. He's been going crazy and he fell short last year again. Two years ago he in the blood round. Last year he lost just before the blood round and then the people that advanced he beat in the summer and it's just like it's killing me. But he's in the gym every day. He's been working out like crazy, just like laying low, just doing his own thing."
On scheduling: "Our schedule this year it's going to be a little bit more aggressive than we've done in the past. Usually we go to a couple of tournaments, further away, but this year we have three overnight trips and one out of state tournament scheduled. We're just trying to get exposed to as many kids in the state as possible and get these kids as much experience as possible and so that way they can see who they might go against when regionals comes around It's very exciting, just seeing all the work that the kids have put in over the offseason."
Outlook: Elijah Perez enters his senior season looking to punctuate a career with his first trip to Kissimmee.
