2A-12 Preview: Wide-open district leaves question on who will step in as champ

BY BRANT PARSONS

Kabra Wrestling Rankings are updated every week all season long for Kabra+ members.

Last season: South Fort Myers picked up back-to-back district title wins with a 25.5 point win over Naples.

How did Kabra do?: We picked SFM and Naples in the 1-2 position, after that this super tight district looked slightly different than our prediction.

Last year’s district tournament results

Last year’s region tournament results

Wrestlers to watch: Andres DiGrigoli (Naples), Jaime Nunez (Naples), Sebastian Corporan (Bonita Springs).

The favorite: Naples. This district feels wide-open at the top and we’ll look at an experienced Naples group with some depth in the room to come out on top.

Team to watch: Bonita Springs. Unfinished business is the theme for the Sharks this season as they had a couple wrestlers come close to making the state tournament.

District duals: Wednesday, January 7 at Bonita Springs, 12 p.m.

District IBT: Friday, February 20 at Immokalee, 11 a.m.
