What they’re saying: “We have graduated a number of seniors and state placers the last two years. We are on the cusp of a rebuild. We have three seniors left this year and a group of incoming freshmen with some middle school experience. We want to start building the new foundation and getting these girls into some big matches, see how they respond in some deep water. Our schedule is competitive so they will be tested every week. We want them to be ready for the big matches and not shy away from the challenge.”

Notable returning wrestlers: Morgan Suggs, Jr.
What they’re saying: "We don't have very strong numbers with the girls program right now. We have had a lot of interest with this whenever we do our incoming freshman orientation or anything when the school's done their orientation with all the sports programs and everything. I mean it seems like we have a ton of girls that want to do it. So I'm hoping we probably won't have a full lineup on the team, but we'll have a good amount of girls and we're going to have a bunch of freshman."
On Morgan Suggs: "We have one returner and she's one of those girls that's absolutely bought in. She's been going to tournaments. She's been going to club practices. She's working out every day. She's the kind of girl where she'll get banged up at a tournament and I'll be like, 'All right, just take this week off.' And she goes, 'Well, I'm still going to come and watch. I still want to come learn. I still want to do this.' So, she's absolutely bought in."
Outlook: The girls team does not return any of the region qualifiers from a year ago but are hoping to build numbers up in the room.

What they’re saying: "It's looking bright. We have seven girls with our club right now. I think that's a good start for us right now. We're obviously looking to get more in before the season starts, but having seven to start out with is going to create a little bit of a buzz there. We had one full-time girl last year. She's brought in a couple of friends and we've got some freshman now. We we've got four or five freshman that have sort of bought in and enjoy the sport and they're looking forward to creating a girls team at Citrus."
Outlook:
