Last season: Heritage advanced 11 wrestlers to the final and won the school’s first district title since 2021.

What they’re saying: “"We don't accept mediocrity on any level. It's just not something we do. Anything we do, we expect them to do their best. I remind them constantly that you've got to bring 100% into the room every day because every day you bring in your best and your best continues to get better. They really bought into that philosophy and our core guys took a big step last year and this year they've really put in some good work over the summer. We're really excited. We've got a great group of core kids."
On captains: "Between the three of them, they're just doing an amazing job. They really took that leadership mantle and have stepped it up this year and every day they talk to the other kids about the expectation around here. I love that."
On tougher district and region: "We love the new challenge. Absolutely. you got the last three state champions in our region. That's a big freaking hill to climb. And you got Mater Academy down there. Olympic Heights is no one to laugh at. I love Boomer down there. Just a great guy. He does wonderful things with his kids. They're always tough when you hit them. their basics, you better be on point when you hit one of those Olympic Heights kids.”
