#3 Wakulla
vs.
#12 Baker County
1A-1 Region Final
All-Time region finals record | How they got here
Wakulla: 3-2, The War Eagles are back in the region final. Two of the three times they won a region title, they also advanced to the state final.
The District 2 champions topped Florida High and South Walton in the two region rounds leading up to the final.
Baker County: 0-1, The Wildcats will be competing in their second region final. They lost to Suwannee in the 2024 region final.
After winning the District 3 title, Baker County beat Trinity Christian and then edged Yulee on criteria to reach the final.
Baker County bounced back from a team illness just in time to power through a difficult region night last Thursday. This is the second time at state duals for some of the leaders on this team so they shouldn’t be blinded by the lights. Wakulla meanwhile has put together deep and talented team under head coach Nate Litowski and will look to stick around the weekend a bit.
Wakulla has developed into one of the top dual teams in Class 1A, winning a tough district and also scoring top 5 wins in competition. They’re ready to show what they’ve developed this weekend in Kissimmee.

#1 Mater Lakes
vs.
#19 True North
1A-4 Region Final
All-Time region finals record | How they got here
Mater Lakes: 1-2, The Bears won the Class 1A state duals title last season, beating St. John Neumann in the final.
The Bears roared to another district title and make quick work of their opponents in the first two region rounds.
True North: 0-0, This is the first appearance for the Titans.
True North topped District 16 and then won a great battle with SLAM Miami to reach the first region final in school history.
Mater Lakes earned their elusive state title last year and now they’re back to bring home the repeat. The lineup is shaping up at the right time and they enter the weekend as the team to beat. True North is having a great season and the upstart program will look to test a few individual matchups in the region final.
Mater Lakes is built for state duals success and they’ll advance from here and look to be the favorites for the title.

#8 Hernando
vs.
#2 Cocoa Beach
1A-2 Region Final
All-Time region finals record | How they got here
Hernando: 2-6, The Leopards have reached the state duals region finals in all nine seasons.
The 1A-6 champions are back in the region finals after beating Crystal River and Menendez last Thursday night.
Cocoa Beach: 0-0, The Minutemen are making their first-ever appearance in the region final.
Cocoa Beach won the 1A-8 district title and then beat Merritt Island to advance to their first region duals final.
Hernando has reached the region final all nine seasons that the state duals have been competed. This year looked to be a rebuilding year for the Leopards but they still have the depth and talent to reach Kissimmee. Cocoa Beach has been building for this moment as its young team molds itself into a contender.
Hernando being in the region duals final is one of the things you can count on each season, but Cocoa Beach is likely too much for them this season. The Minutemen are deep and should win their first region title, the question will be if they have enough firepower to take Mater Lakes to the limit.

#13 SLAM Tampa
vs.
#4 St. John Neumann
1A-3 Region Final
All-Time region finals record | How they got here
SLAM Tampa: 0-0, The first year program reached the region final.
The Spartans won 1A-10 and then followed it up with a win over Dunedin and a thrilling defeat of Anclote to book the trip here.
St. John Neumann: 1-0, The Celtics advanced to the state final last season in their first appearance.
The second-year program rolled through the competition last Thursday, beating Lemon Bay and Lakewood.
SLAM Tampa continues to grow at a rapid pace in its first year and they get rewarded with a trip to Kissimmee. They’ll face last year’s state finalists in St. John Neumann. The Celtics are arguably an even deeper team than last year’s state runner-up.
SLAM Tampa’s story is a great one, but this matchup leans toward the Celtics in a big way. St. John Neumann advances to Saturday.
