BY BRANT PARSONS — We asked and you voted, emphatically, for Kabra Wrestling’s first Reader’s Choice Wrestler of the Week - Rylee Beville.

The Cocoa Beach seventh-grader ripped through the competition in her first high school tournament, scoring four pins in four matches to win the 100-pound weight class at the Girls Flagler Rotary Tournament.

“Rylee came into a very tough Flagler Rotary Invitational looking to show she belongs in the conversation at 100 pounds and I think she did just that,” Coach Beach head coach Chris Kelly said. “I think being able to pin her way through one of the toughest girls tournaments in Florida is going to be a good confidence builder moving forward.”

The win for Beville was a nice opening statement for the undersized wrestler, but she has her eyes on some bigger prizes this season.

“Her ultimate goal this year is to be the first 12-year-old state champ,” Kelly said. “So she got right back to work to continue improving and building on her early season success.”

Francesca Bisordi (Lakewood Ranch), Ceajah Brown (Orlando Freedom), Bailey DeVries (Kissimmee Osceola), Kendal Haynie (Wakulla), Vanessa Kervin (Anclote), Cameron Lord (Sunlake), and Clariza Pequeno (Port Charlotte) were also nominated after great performances in the first week of the girls season.
