BY BRANT PARSONS —We’ve combined some of your nominations with our picks for the Kabra Wrestling readers to vote for the wrestler who stood out as the top one in the first week of the season.
The nominees are…
Rylee Beville (Cocoa Beach): Won the Flagler Rotary at 12-years-old with all pins.
Francesca Bisordi (Lakewood Ranch): Followed up her sophomore season as a first time state qualifier with a first place finish at the Ladies of the Ring at Parrish
Ceajah Brown (Orlando Freedom): Brown won a thrilling 13-9 decision over last year's state finalist in the Rotary final.
Bailey DeVries (Kissimmee Osceola): The freshman went 6-0 at the Drumstick Duals and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Kendal Haynie (Wakulla): Haynie secured 4 victories (a tech fall and 3 pins) without surrendering a single point at Flagler. All of her opponents were ranked.
Vanessa Kervin (Anclote): First-year wrestler won first place at Queen of the Nest with four pins.
Cameron Lord (Sunlake): Individual champion in a weight class that featured 12 ranked wrestlers at Rotary.
Clariza Pequeno (Port Charlotte): Beat the fourth-ranked wrestler in the finals at the Ladies of the Ring.
