Region 3A-3: Preview and Predictions

FRIDAY-SATURDAY FEBRUARY 27-28, 2026 - at Kissimmee Osceola High School

Friday: Weigh-in: 3 p.m. | Wrestling starts: 4:15 p.m.

Saturday: Weigh-in: 8 a.m. | Wrestling starts: 9:15 a.m.

Welcome to one of my favorite traditions - the region previews.

For those that are reading one for the first time, here's a quick summary of what the region preview is.

I look at each bracket notate where wrestlers are ranked in the Kabra Wrestling Rankings and then start to break it down even more. You can find those rankings marked on the bracket images in the previews this year.

I look for head-to-head matchups, common opponents, and how each wrestler has been trending in the stretch run. I then question my rankings - and myself - and play out the entire bracket.

What follows is my best guess for how 3A-3 will play out.

You can print the 3A-3 region bracket here. (PDF)

I've carefully predicted the four state qualifiers in the order that I think the will finish. I've also listed wrestlers that could prove me wrong and make it to Kissimmee.

I will be wrong with these picks, and I'm okay with that. In fact, I love when kids prove me wrong (or prove me right).

These previews and predictions are meant to bring excitement to one of the exhilarating and heartbreaking weekends in sports.

I assure you that I have no bias in my picks and truly wish the best for every wrestler competing this weekend.

And as always, these picks are for entertainment purposes only.

Now onto the preview:

Picks made based on current brackets at 10:00 p.m. on February 25, 2026.

Kabra's Picks

1. #4 Sebastian Rodriguez (Harmony)

2. #6 Nadir Shalaby (Orlando Freedom)

3. #10 Eli Valdez (Park Vista)

4. #11 Ajani Flanders (Boone)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #16 Caiden Adams (Viera); #17 Finn Allcroft (Fort Pierce Central)

Opening round match to watch:

Kabra says: Harmony junior Rodriguez has been scoring big wins all season long and enters the weekend the favorite after being Shalaby by major decision in their 3A-9 district final. Valdez has shown he’s capable of high quality wins and will be in the mix here.

Kabra's Picks

1. #2 Shawnley Clervoyant (Wellington)

2. #5 Chris Schnobrick (Olympic Heights)

3. #8 Leonardo Ortiz (Harmony)

4. #10 Magnum Colon (Orlando Freedom)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #22 Jovanni Ortiz (Kissimmee Osceola); Pedro Spindola (Spanish River)

Opening round match to watch: Nate Kuzak (Viera) vs. J. Ortiz

Kabra says: Clervoyant and Schnobrick both reached the 3A-12 district final last week, but they didn’t wrestle. The Wellington senior has had a strong season with three Top 8 victories. In like matches, they were even in how they won. So if we get a rematch of a bout that didn’t happen, it should be a good one that either is capable of winning. Harmony freshman Ortiz has had a great first season and could find himself in the mix.

Kabra's Picks

1. #2 Nathan Lyttle (Harmony)

2. #6 Carter Rivera (St. Cloud)

3. #12 Jaden Williams (Wellington)

4. #14 Aiden Spilker (Jupiter)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #15 Diago Pina (Olympic Heights); #23 Angel Agramonte (Kissimmee Osceola)

Opening round match to watch: Pina vs. Nicholas Pela (Fort Pierce Central)

Kabra says: Lyttle has had a monster season and the defending state champion should win his third region title this weekend. We picked the rest of the district champions to advance to Silver Spurs from this bracket, with Williams owning a technical fall win over Spilker.

Kabra's Picks

1. #8 Xavier Santiago (Orlando Freedom)

2. #9 Preston Williams (Olympic Heights)

3. #18 Leonard Wilder (Fort Pierce Central)

4. #25 Anthony Gray (Wellington)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: Finn Ryan (Viera); Worthington Darian (West Boca)

Opening round match to watch: Jonathan Andrade (Jupiter) vs. Kaleb Rodriguez (Cypress Creek)

Kabra says: Santiago and Williams have managed to be at two of the same tournaments this season, but they were big ones and they enter the postseason having not faced each other. It’s a toss up.

Kabra's Picks

1. #10 Nevan Irving (Harmony)

2. #16 Myles Henkel (Fort Pierce Central)

3. #18 Tristan Roman (Viera)

4. #19 Sam Gilbert (Jupiter)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: Murad Ramadan (Boca Raton); Chris Contreras (Olympic Heights)

Opening round match to watch: Contreras vs. Jaykob Ortiz (Orlando Freedom)

Kabra says: Irving is capable of big things and was ranked #1 for a short bit this season after topping the then top-ranked wrestler by a major decision. A few late season losses dropped him but kept him in the Top 10 and he’s the favorite here to win his second consecutive region title. The rest of the podium seems to be a variation of our picks but don’t be surprised to see Ramadan or Contreras punch their way in.

Kabra's Picks

1. #4 Skyler West (Fort Pierce Central)

2. #11 Matthew Hoenshell (Tohopekaliga)

3. #10 Ismael Robles (Orlando Freedom)

4. #13 Kai Benedetti (Wellington)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #14 Ryan Fain (Olympic Heights); #18 Angel Legrand (Cypress Creek)

Opening round match to watch: Hoenshell vs. #19 Brody Williams (Harmony)

Kabra says: We’ve written this bracket prediction a couple times thanks to some changes in the bracket and in our thinking. West continues to be our confident favorite here, but the rest of the podium has looked a bunch of different ways. Benedetti now has three wins this season over Fain.

Kabra's Picks

1. #13 Isaac Velazquez (Orlando Freedom)

2. #16 Javin Taylor (Boca Raton)

3. #20 Simon Gelman (Olympic Heights)

4. #24 Jack Travers (Melbourne)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: Levi Perez (Jupiter); Jacob Pellecer (Wellington)

Opening round match to watch: Max Baylis (Tohopekaliga) vs. Jose Enrique Sanchez (Cypress Creek)

Kabra says: There’s not much to separate Velazaquez and Taylor. Trust us, we’ve looked. We even went back to last year’s region tournament where Taylor reached the final and Velazquez lost in the blood round and couldn’t find like opponents that showed an edge to either. We’ll go with the senior from Freedom based on how he’s been tested this season, but picking the winner here is just as easy with a coinflip.

Kabra's Picks

1. #3 Nathan Barrett (Harmony)

2. #4 Kingsley Mincer (Orlando Freedom)

3. #10 Nikolas Gray (Wellington)

4. #18 Jesus Velasquez (Colonial)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: Jordan Sierra (Fort Pierce Central); Adrian Rodriguez (Park Vista)

Opening round match to watch: Bryan Velaszuez (Seminole Ridge) vs. Neil Gilady (Olympic Heights)

Kabra says: Barrett and Mincer met for the first time this season in the district final and it was the Harmony senior who prevailed in a tight 5-4 decision. The semifinal in the top half of this bracket should be one to stop and watch as Mincer and Gray could meet there. They haven’t met this season according to our records.

Kabra's Picks

1. #7 Tyler Gray (Wellington)

2. #9 Jonathan Olmo (Kissimmee Osceola)

3. #12 Elias Silver (Jupiter)

4. #22 Jeshaiah Gabriel (Orlando Freedom)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #23 Elijah Akers (Harmony); Kingston Grunt (Boca Raton)

Opening round match to watch: Juan Hidalgo (Tohopekaliga) vs. Adriano Garavito (Olympic Heights)

Kabra says: Gray has wrestled one of the toughest schedules in the bracket and comes into this weekend a slight favorite. Olmo and Silver sit together on the bottom half of this bracket and present an intriguing potential semifinal matchup. If Silver does reach the final, Gray is 4-0 in their meetings this season.

Kabra's Picks

1. #4 Bryan Batles (Tohopekaliga)

2. #10 Ehab Shalaby (Orlando Freedom)

3. #13 David Yi (Kissimmee Osceola)

4. #16 Matthis Noel (Fort Pierce Central)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #17 Elias Enzner (Olympic Heights); #18 Mustafa Ramadan (Boca Raton)

Opening round match to watch: Ramadan vs. Christian Angel (Orlando University)

Kabra says: Batles is a returning state placer and Shalaby was a state qualifier the past two seasons. We’ve not had a chance to really get a feel for Shalaby yet this season, but we’ll know more about where he stands after this weekend. Yi owns a major decision win over Noel this year.

Kabra's Picks

1. #5 Jad Urribarri (John I. Leonard)

2. #6 Mac Andrews (Wellington)

3. #14 Caden Kimbrell (Jupiter)

4. #16 Israel Serrano (Celebration)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #18 Ryker Thomas (Viera); #20 Aizea Lopez (Orlando Freedom)

Opening round match to watch: Josue Mota-Marte (Tohopekaliga) vs. Evan Tuttle (Palm Beach Gardens)

Kabra says: Urribari earned a huge 7-6 win over Andrews in the 3A-12 district final, it avenged an earlier 4-0 loss in-season at the PBCWHOF Championships. Urribari and Andrews are a combined 5-0 against Kimbrell, who we picked the finish in the third spot.

Kabra's Picks

1. #7 Felipe Palhares (West Boca)

2. #8 Bryce Johnson (Dwyer)

3. #12 Christopher Aubain (Orlando Freedom)

4. #14 Preston Ricks (Santaluces)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #15 Landon Keck (Viera); #20 Sultan Olzha (Spanish River)

Opening round match to watch: Olzha vs. Benjamin Ogle (Seminole Ridge)

Kabra says: Heading into the district finals, Palhares was 0-2 against Johnson this season, but the West Boca senior avenged his only two losses with a 4-2 decision. Aubain is the one wrestler in the bracket with state tournament experience and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Freedom senior battling for the top spot here.

Kabra's Picks

1. #2 Daniel Damm (West Boca)

2. #6 Joshua Ramirez (Orlando Freedom)

3. #13 Reynaldo Sierra (St. Cloud)

4. #14 Valentino Benavides (Tohopekaliga)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: #20 Brenden Howard (Boca Raton); #21 Collin Everington (Dwyer)

Opening round match to watch: Benavides vs. Adam Colvin (Harmony)

Kabra says: After coming a match short of state last year, Damm has been on a mission and his 33-2 record shows it. He’s the guy to beat here this weekend and he’s ready. The West Boca senior has not faced any of our picks for the podium. Ramirez has shown he can come up big in big moments, as he did at the state duals with a Top 15 win to help clinch a spot for the Patriots in the state duals final.

Kabra's Picks

1. #10 Jordyn Martin (Orlando Freedom)

2. #11 Aiden Pizarro (Colonial)

3. #23 Raymundo Romero (Park Vista)

4. #25 Nicolas Trocel Zanuttia (Cypress Creek)

Wrestlers who could prove me wrong: Wyatt Tapia (Wellington); Logan Henghold (Fort Pierce Central)

Opening round match to watch: Tapia vs. Amari Walker (Dwyer)

Kabra says: Martin avenged one of his four losses this season when he topped Pizarro 2-1 in their district final. The Colonial senior won their in-season meeting 4-0. They’re the two favorites here and could make for a fun final if they meet again. Pizarro arguably has the harder half of the bracket with Romero, Trocel Zanuttia, and Jupiter district champion Finn Pfeiffer-Blackman all in the mix.
