Listen: Girls teams you should be talking about

November 6, 2026

BY BRANT PARSONS —On the latest episode of the podcast, we are getting ready for the upcoming high school season and we are talking the girls division.

The rules are simple, we are all tasked to pick a team in each region that didn’t finish in the Top 10 that we think people should be talking about.

You can listen to the podcast here and learn about more of the teams below:

Region 1

Kabra Wrestling: Mosley

An unfortunate injury led to a gutsy podium finish for Tor’rina Rushing last year and the senior is back and healthy and ready to compete for the top spot. State qualifier Julietta Pearson also returns for the Dolphins.

SE Wrestle: North Bay Haven

A state finalist and qualifier could be back in the line-up for the Buccaneers. Nova Estrada finished second in the state last year as eighth grader and freshman Addison Neufeld also wrestled in Kissimmee.

Ward Wrestling: Lake Mary

The Rams could return state finalist Zaria Slater as they look for their fifth top three finish in their district in six seasons.

Region 2

Kabra Wrestling: George Jenkins

Nine of last season’s ten starters are back in the room for the Eagles, who are led by returning state qualifiers Tori Gibson and Paige Ballard.

SE Wrestle: Hernando

State placer Emerson Webber is back for the Leopards who also have state qualifier Addison Johnson back in the lineup too. Hernando looks to be deeper this season and competing with the rest of the state.

Ward Wrestling: Cocoa Beach

Every wrestler returns for the Minutemen, including state placer Rylee Beville and state qualifier Elysse Fredenburg. State qualifier Nezaria Powell adds depth to an already experienced lineup.

Region 3

Kabra Wrestling: Braden River

State placer Alexis Hutter is back to lead a growing team that will have a full lineup this season. State qualifier Karliana Arteaga also returns on a team that will see an infusion from freshman Kenadee Michaels. Michaels completed seventh and eighth grade last year to bump up to her ninth grade year.

SE Wrestle: North Fort Myers

The Red Knights could return state placers Alyssa Doolittle and Cora Hayes to a lineup that has won three of the part four titles in their district. State qualifier Leila Irizarry might also be back.

Ward Wrestling: St. John Neumann

There could be three returning state qualifiers for the Celtics this season with podium finisher Loghan Anzualda joining Zoey McDonald and Savanna Porter.

Region 4

Kabra Wrestling: Miami Palmetto

The Panthers have some heavy hitters with fourth-place finisher Carmen Moya leading the way. Four wrestlers return who have legit shots at state qualification.

SE Wrestle: Douglas

A full line-up should propel the Eagles into district and region competitiveness. District champion Samantha De Gance leads an experienced group that added blood-rounder Abigail Moyer via transfer.

Ward Wrestling: Doral Academy

State finalist Rebecca Marin is back and she will be looking to end her career at the top of the podium.
