District duals: Team effort powers Baker County to title | Osceola Fundamental, PHU win
Published Tuesday, January 7, 2026
BY BRANT PARSONS — Baker Country thrives in these moments.
The Wildcats won their third consecutive district duals title on Tuesday, topping Yulee 51-27 in the final.
“We continually coach our kids on the importance of team,” Baker County coach Richard Crews said. “Everybody has a role to play, whether that's in practice or in a big dual, we treat our team like one big family where everyone matters and I truly believe that mindset has helped have some success during dual season.”
That team-first mindset was on full display as Baker County outscored its three opponents 197-42.
Kenneth Watson (126), Robby Driggers (132), Taz Kinghorn (150), Sebastian Overland (157), Eli Leggett (165), Collin Daniel (165/175), Kristian Chancey (190), and Anthony Williams (285) all went undefeated on the night to help pace the Wildcats.
“It's hard to narrow down any individuals but Kinghorn continues to be a leader for us,” Crews said. “He is someone who we count on to get us some bonus points. Chancey, Williams, Driggers, Overland, and Daniel were able to contribute and pick up bonus wins for us. Legget perhaps had the best night for us and picked up two huge wins at 165 against some really good opponents.”
Baker County moves on to host the region quarterfinals and semifinals next Thursday. The Wildcats will be looking to repeat their 2024 performance and return to the region finals in Kissimmee later this month.
