Matches to watch in Monday’s district | Full district schedule

February 8, 2026

BY BRANT PARSONS — The 2026 Florida state wrestling preseason begins on Monday with the first girls district taking place at Bishop Verot.

Matches to watch

We can’t promise that these will happen as we may not know of intended weight class changes or those who are injured — but if these matches take place, we think they’ll be ones to watch.

Check out the latest girls rankings here

G1A-12

125: #1 Savanna Porter (St. John Neumann) vs. #5 Sophie Simons (Naples)

These two state placers met two weeks ago in the final of the Queen of the Castle tournament. Simons opened the match by taking a 10-0 lead in the first period before Porter battled back to make it 10-8 after two. The top-ranked sophomore than outscored her opponent 8-1 in the third to win the title.

100: #25 Nola Rager (Canterbury) vs. Rowan Heath (Bonita Springs)

According to our records, they have not faced each other this season, but they could put on a close contest here.

Kabra preseason picks: 1. St. John Neumann; 2. Bishop Verot; 3. Lely; 4. Naples; 5. Immokalee; 6. Aubrey Rogers; 7. South Fort Myers; 8. Barron Collier; 9. Canterbury; 10. Dunbar.
