Mater Lakes takes first step in repeat title quest
BY BRANT PARSONS —Mater Lakes won 13 of 14 matches and easily won the 1A-4 region finals with a 73-3 win over True North.
“We looked good and we don’t want to look too far ahead,” Mater Lakes head coach Brandon Neifeld said. “We’ll keep an eye on the Cocoa Beach-St. John Neumann match and try to be ready for both.”
Jack Cabrera (106), Ty O`Dell (113), Jake Margolis (120), Kellen Mesina (126), Keagan Mesina (132), Christopher Greene (138), Bruce Li (144), Mason O`Dell (150), Christopher Benzan (165), Kalias Nazario (175), Richard Lugo (190), Daniel Perez (215), and Maximilian Garzaro (285) all won matches for Mater Lakes.
Lucas Santiago (157) picked up the sole win for the Titans.
Mater Lakes will face Wakulla in the state semifinals on Saturday morning.
